Paper Submission (for Regular Symposium Sessions, Topical Meetings and Special Sessions)

Authors are requested to submit by December 7, 2007 (Extending to December 23, 2007):

a preliminary paper in English, not exceeding four pages including title, authors affiliation, abstract, figures, tables and references.

During the submission procedure via the submission portal, authors will be prompted to enter a short paragraph describing the novelty of their contribution.  In order to expedite the review process, it is mandatory that the authors provide the above information.  Incomplete submissions will not be considered for review.  Submissions can only be accepted electronically via the EMC ASIA PACIFIC 2008 Submission Portal in Portable Document Format (PDF).  Font embedding must be IEEE Xplore compatible.  For typesetting, LaTeX and Word templates are available.  Hardcopies or any format other than PDF will not be accepted.

Please submit preliminary paper via Submission Portal.

Accepted Papers

Notifications of paper acceptance and the necessary information to electronically submit the final version of the paper will be sent to the authors not later than January 30, 2008.

Final papers must not exceed four pages including figures, table and references.  The templates provided for typesetting the preliminary paper also apply for the final paper.  The hard deadline for final paper submission (exclusively through EMC ASIA PACIFIC 2008 Submission Portal) is March 14, 2008.

Accepted Papers will be included in the IEEE Xplore digital library and is EI-indexed.

Review

Submissions will be reviewed by the technical committees based on selection criteria which include the following factors:

Originality and Novelty:
How is the contribution unique, significant, and state-of the art?
Quality:
Clarity of the writing and figures.  What is the context of the contribution with respect to previous work, including proper references?
Technical Sophistication and Depth:
Does the contribution extend the current knowledge?
Importance of Topic:
Does it has direct significance to the EMC community?

Student Paper Prize

Papers considered for the student prize are expected to represent predominantly the work of the student.  Papers that are co-authored by a student and his advisor are also eligible, provided the student is the principal author and the presenter.  Please indicate during the electronic submission if you want your paper to be considered for the student paper prize and, in case of a co-authored paper, identify the student's name.  Student papers will be subject to the same review process as regular papers and will be presented in the regular sessions.  A jury will elect the best paper based on content and presentation.  There will be a prize for the best student paper and an invitation to the banquet at which the winner will be officially announced.
